The new automatic testing oven, the Metrastat PLC TOUCH, makes it possible, like its predecessors, to expose polymer samples to heat, at constant temperature and for different lengths of time, to see the degradation and stabilizer consumption in plastic samples (PVC, PE, PP, PVDF, PTFE, plastisols, etc.). The new oven has a better performance and reliability because equipped with Siemens automation, a programmable logic controller which regulates perfectly the heat distribution in the oven’s heating chamber. The unit ensures the reproducible baking of 10 (or 5 larger) test samples simultaneously, with high precision and linearity. Its resistance to corrosion is legendary. A linear exhaust system pulls corrosive and toxic fumes out of the oven for the duration of a test. The test time can be preset to any desired duration, from minutes up to one month. All the parameters, be it temperature, preheating time and test duration are set on the Siemens touch pannel replacing all the previous electronic commands of the METRASTAT 780 oven. A new Metrastat integrated exhaust hood is also available now. It is equipped with an active carbon adsortion system and can be fixed directly on top of the oven.
